Taste North Austin at the Domain!

On May 16th, Jocelyn and I decided to randomly go to the Domain. Turns out, there was a huge taste testing of all the restaurants in the Domain. They sold 10 tickets for $20. What a deal! We went around to every booth and tried everything. We even saw cooking lessons and ate those free samples. Yummm.

$20 for 10 tickets. Worth itttttt

Here is what we had and if we liked it.

Maggiano’s Little Italy – Chicken and Truffle Tortellacci w/ White Wine Cream Sauce, Smoked Ham, and Asiago Cheese

Pretty goooddddd. I’d recommend it.

California Pizza Kitchen - Barbecue Salad

Very flavorful and different, it’s not a light salad. This can pretty much be a meal.

Cookwell & Co. – Salad with Mixed Greens, Fresh Strawberries, Feta and Toasted Almonds Tossed in Watermelon Vinaigrette and Salad with Baby Spinach, Frozen Grape, Blue Cheese and Toasted Nuts Tossed in Watermelon Vinaigrette. ALSO a Banana’s Foster

All of the salads were pretty damn good. Easy stuff you make at home. Their sauces are sold at HEB and Central Market. Go get itttt. Blue cheese is gross imho.

Newk’s Express Cafe – Chicken Salad, Pimento and Turkey Sandwiches, Brownies, Crispy Treats and Sweet Tea.

They gave us lots of goodies. Pretty tasty. Free cup too!

McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant – Chocolate Dipped Waffle Cone w/ White Chocolate Mousse and Fresh Berries

It was good, but kinda heavy. SUPER HOT DAY, so it melted pretty quickly.

Fleming’s – Sliced Filet Mignon Sliders w/ Sauteed Mushrooms and Bearmase Sauce

REALLY GOOD. It’s filet mignon, what else is there to say?

Daily Grill – Steak Sandwich

My personal favorite item. This was delicioussss, better than Flemings. No offense.

Lick it, Bite it, or Both! – Cupcakes and Ice Cream

Mini-cupcakes, cute design, but the cupcakes were average tasting. A little on the dry end, maybe cause they weren’t fresh?

Viva Chocolato – Assorted Chocolates and Wine

Wine was tasty, butttt we forgot to eat the chocolate. It looked good though!

Other places that were there were:

Cru – Wine Bar

Jasper’s

Kona Grill

Mangia Pizza

Marie Callenders

The Melting Pot

NoRth

Panera Bread

the Steeping Room***

Sushi Zushi

Urban an American Grill

Sorry this post took forever to come, but it’s LONG! I would recommend any of these awesome places that are located in the Domain area of Austin.

Be on the look for more events like this! ORRR you could follow us on Twitter @gimmenomnom and we’ll keep you updated.

Happy eating,

Chris
